About US

The Mechanical Contractors Association of New York, Inc.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of New York, Inc. (MCA) is the voice of the Mechanical and Sprinkler Contracting Industry in New York City and Long Island. From Educational opportunities to legislative initiatives MCA works to advance and develop the heating, piping, air conditioning and fire suppression industry. Since our formation in 1885, we continue to promote the competence, cost-effectiveness, and productivity of union construction and service, through training, education, and labor relations.
About US

MCA New York

The Council is dedicated to educating and informing our New York City and Long Island communities and public officials regarding the vital role fire sprinklers play in protecting lives and property. Our mission is to increase awareness regarding the benefits of installing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems and to promote the fire sprinkler trade as a specialty within the mechanical contracting industry. In recognition of the highly regulated nature of the fire sprinkler industry, it is the further mission of this organization to confer with and provide advice to those public agencies that enforce and promulgate rules and regulations concerning the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in furtherance of the above-mentioned goals.
What We Do

Steam / Construction

MCA of New York, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors. MCA’s policies are administered by an Association staff which has an effective relationship with the Steamfitters Union with whom it negotiates. MCA also governs the Greater New York Welding Chapter, the New York Fire Sprinkler Council and provides the management trustees for the Steamfitting Industry Promotion Fund and the Service Fitters Promotional Fund.

In additional to local business relationships, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) sponsors an annual Convention for its MCA chapters. The MCAA provides an excellent forum to discuss business with contractors from other parts of the country. The convention also offers outstanding educational and social activities. For firms specializing or participating in the mechanical service contracting industry, MCAA sponsors the Mechanical Service Contractors of American (MSCA) which is an association geared for members involved in service work.
