In April, Women in the Mechanical Industry (WiMi) hosted its inaugural Give Back event — and it was a tremendous success!
More than 40 WiMi members gathered to assemble gift bags for children and caregivers residing in domestic violence shelters, in partnership with Womankind, a nonprofit organization that works alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they rebuild their lives through healing, restoration, and community support. The event was timed ahead of Mother’s Day to provide comfort and care during what can be a particularly difficult time for many families.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Associate Member sponsors — Metrovalve & Actuation, Highmark Building Efficiency, Ideal Supply, Nefco Corp, Acrisure Insurance, and Atlantic Contracting & Specialties — WiMi was able to donate more than 50 thoughtfully curated gift bags to Womankind shelters across the city.
We were blown away by the turnout and enthusiasm of our membership and are thrilled to announce that this will become an annual tradition.
We also extend our congratulations to Alise Colandro of Welkin Enterprises, who won a trip to this year’s WiMi Conference in Kansas City, MO! MCA staff will be attending the conference in full force, and we look forward to connecting with our national peers.
